THE BAND

The Dawn Chorus are a seven-piece musical collective from Hampshire, England. Starting life as a standard four-part indie band in 2005 they have spent the past few years ‘getting their sound’.

With the addition of trumpet, keyboards, mandolin and accordion they have grown into their modern indie/rock/pop/folk skin which had been building up through their debut EPs and came to fruition with their debut album ‘The Big Adventure’ which was released in 2008 to hugely favourable reviews. The record was placed at number 7 in Planet Sound’s albums of 2008, and the band toured the country throughout 2008 and 2009, including festival appearances at Bestival and Two Thousand Trees.

The glue that holds the band together, and a great deal of the power that The Dawn Chorus create, stems from the lyrics of front man Kyle Evans intertwined with the music of lead guitarist, Neil Elliott and the musicianship of the rest of the band.

Quite often it is difficult to separate the fantastical from the mundane of everyday life, but it is always presented to the listener in such a way that it is almost unimportant and the journey you go on with the band is far more crucial than anything else.
